BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse

I been to BJ's restaurants several times now. I been to both the location on Arden and in Elk Grove. I would say that the Arden location is for middle age folks, while the Elk Grove location is more for teens or the college crowd.

I been to BJ's more than I would have anticipated. The first few times I went I wanted to go because my friends and other people I knew raved about it. But, after going their more than a few times, I don't have the same excitement for that place. BJ's is one those restaurants that my friends would usually pick to go and I would be okay lets go there.

When I usually go to BJ's, I would order pasta. But, after a few times there I realize that there pasta wasn't as good as I would have liked it. In addition, there pasta dishes don't seem that unique. For me, it seems like they have the regular pasta options, chicken fettuccine alfredo and spaghetti. I also don't like that their sauces. The sauces always seem to be to light than I wanted.

Besides pasta, BJ's is also popular for their pizza.They have deep dish pizza with different selections for toppings that you can choose or select a special. For about a personal pizza that is 10 inches and it's about 10 dollars. And, yes, 10 inches is less than a ruler and I don't think that's enough to keep one person satisfied. Well, at least not me.

I like that BJ's have many different options for appetizers although I'm not usually an appetizer person. They also have different selections for entrees--pizza, mahi mahi dish with rice and vegetables, sandwiches, hamburgers, pasta, and more. They are also famous for their pizookie.

I went to BJ's yesterday. This time around I decided to order the Barbeque Beef sandwich with potato wedges. I saw in the menu that there was onions, but I forgot to tell them to take it out. I liked that the onions were fried though. It sticks less to my sandwich and was more appealing than usual. I really enjoyed this meal. I liked that the bread was kind of crunchy and that I had barbeque meat, which I usually don't eat.

My friend ordered the chicken fettuccine alfredo. I usually would order this pasta, but decided not to. I love the garlic bread that comes with it. When I usually order this pasta I would ask for extra and they never charged me for extra bread! The pasta itself tastes alright. It could use better sauce throughout the pasta.

My other friend ordered the Mahi Mahi dish. I was glad that she ordered it because I like seeing other dishes. I think the Mahi Mahi looked delicious. But, if I were to eat it I would want more rice.

We all decided to go to BJ's yesterday for a friends early birthday. The friend got a bacon cheeseburger. It was huge!! I thought it looked delicious though. My friend cut a part of it and there was still a 1/3 of it left. She finished the fries though. For me, I would like a burger that I can finish entirely and not save it for later. But, I do like getting more for my money. She also had a drink there and I tried a sip of it. It reminded me of a medicine I use to take, but I liked it.

Krush Burger

Food trucks are getting more popular in Sacramento and other areas in California. There are food truck events that occur occasionally. Also, there are food trucks that like to stop at different places in the city. Krush Burger, Drewski's, Shalah's are a couple of food trucks that come to my mind right away. Although I have yet to try Drewski's, I did try Krush Burger a few weeks ago.

It was a couple of weeks ago when I noticed the hashtag for #sacburgermonth. I, then, checked it out and decided to go to Krush Burger that weekend. Krush burger was at Caesar's Chavez Park in Sacramento. I think the event was Concerts in the Park and there were other food trucks there. Also, I think budweiser was sponsoring the event, so there was a lot of alcohol consumption in the park.

Before I ordered, I checked out Krush Burger online and I liked that they had mini burgers. I also like that they had flavors that were not the usual I can get from anywhere else. I decided to order three of their mini burgers to share with my sisters. I ordered the Original, Philly, and the Cowbell. The burger was better than I expected. I noticed from the menu online that the burger had grilled onions and I was going to take it off my burger, but I didn't feel the onions in my burger or I was just okay with it in my burger. Usually, the onions would be so noticeable or unpleasing that I wanted to take them off. I think their fries were okay, not that special. I think I should have ordered tater tots instead since I haven't had them in a while and because burger places don't usually offer tater tots.

Tommy J's

During the weekend, I really craved soup. Actually, I still want soup. Yet, I still decided to go to another burger place this weekend. It's called Tommy J's. I went in right when it opened. From what I noticed, it seems like the people in there were in the late 20-40s, including the people who worked there. It's also a bar, so some other people came in and they seemed like regulars.

On the day I went, they had a special for clam chowder. But, I decided not to order it since it wasn't going to come with a bread bowl. I just can't enjoy clam chowder without the bread bowl. It's not the same experience. Anyways, I ordered The Cheeseburger. Since this place isn't as "fast" as other burger places, it's also different in how the burger is prepared. The server asked me how I wanted it and I said medium. I like that they didn't put the whole sandwich together. That gives me the option of putting what I like the in the hamburger. Their fries are those simple ones and I don't think they prepared the fries themselves other than deep frying it. I finished the cheeseburger. I ate a few fries too, but I didn't want to finish the fries in one setting. I saved the fries for later and it got soggy. The fries lost a lot of its flavor after a while.

Redrum Burger

I had a craving for a hamburger this whole week. Today, I finally decided to get a burger. I also decided to go to a burger place that I havent been yet, so Redrum Burger was the choice. Redrum Burger was formerly known as Murder Burger. As you can notice redrum is murder spelled backwards.

Redrum Burger has its own parking lot and its right across from IN-N-OUT Burger. When I walked in I noticed that the place was smaller than I imagined. Also, the place seems like a spot that is popular with families or the older generation. 

You order the burgers by pound here. There's the 1/2, 1/3, annihilator, and a ostrich burger. I ordered the 1/3 pound burger combo.The combo comes with regular fries and a soda. I was going to order a Coke, but they didn't have it, so I chose Sierra Mist. The fries here are different from most other burger places. They didn't peel off all of the potato skin. I like that. I also like that their fries are skinner than most other places. Their condiments and utensil are easily visible and I grabbed a few extra mustard and ketchup.

When I unwrapped the burger, I immediately thought that it was a big size burger. Nonetheless, I ate it and finished the burger in one setting. Oh, and as you can see in the picture there's onions and I don't like onions. I forgot to tell them to not include it, but luckily it doesn't affect the flavor of the burger and I just took it off.

IN-N-OUT

There was a time period in which I was really into IN-N-OUT. I was willing to walk across Davis just to get a sandwich and/or fries from there. I dont why, but I had a serious craving for the food. I particularly wanted a sandwich from there. I wanted their fries. I wanted the specific taste and feeling of eating those certain foods from IN-N-OUT. I think I must have went to IN-N-OUT very close to 10 times. That is a crazy amount for me. Luckily, I do not still have a fascination with IN-N-OUT. I am glad that I can enjoy the food there every once in a while instead of a frequent craving.

Although there is one picture shown in this post, there should be much more! I know that I went there more than once. I wanted to show more pictures to show how much I craved it, but I could not find them. I guess there is a bad side of taking too many pictures that I dont know where anything is located.

A day in Irvine

On the Wednesday of Spring break me and friends decided to take the bus to the beach. The beach was not as exciting as I thought it would be. But, it was still nice to be there since the weather was nice.

Newport Beach

After we went to the beach, we took the bus to Fashion Island. The ride there was pretty quick, probably around 15 minutes. The place seemed very neat and had some nice places to browse around. I also saw that there was a Häagen-Dazs shop there, so I had to go get some. It was quite delicious. I got the belgian chocolate chocolate on a cone. After a while of walking we got tired and decided to go get something to eat. We went to Fatburger. The burger was good, but it was too small for its price, close to $5. We also went to a plaza that had Target, Old Navy, and other shops and restaurants. It was so big that it had to be divided into others streets.
